A Little Patience Required
Now you have placed both your Back Bet at Skybet and your Lay Bet at Betfair we need to wait until the event has passed. Whatever happens you have covered all the possible outcomes, so you ARE NOT GAMBLING. At some bookmakers (like Skybet)your free bet is credited immediately, with others it can take up to 48 hours for the free bet to be credited. Check the terms for each bookie to be sure.
When the event is over you will probably have a couple of £'s less than when you started BUT you will ALSO have the full amount of the Free Bets available to you at Skybet AND at Betfair/Betdaq.
NOTE: at the moment Betfair (and only Betfair) require you to lose your qualifying bet to earn the free bet – all the other bookies give you the free bet regardless if you win or lose. Since very few betting exchanges exist (and Betfair is considered to be the biggest and best) you will regularly use this company to make your lay bets - you may qualify for the free bet only on the first occasion that you bet with them.
All your other back bets will be made at different bookies to take advantage of their new customer offers. The lay bets will be made at an exchange like Betfair each time.
