I staked £25 and won on 25/11/08 and I have had no free bet and when I questioned them they sent this:

Dear Mr Stratton,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We regret to inform you that we do not offer 'first bet' bonus'. You are however eligable for upcoming bonus' from bwin.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries and we wish you the best of luck with your bets.

Kind regards,

Your bwin customer service team

Bwin is the best example of a 'Bonus'. Some bookmakers dont offer a 'free bet' but simply put a percentage increase on your initial deposit. So with Bwin you put £20 in and they will match that by increasing the amount in your account.
This is good news to us lot as its so easy - you dont need to do a quallifying bet at all. Just deposit and find a bet - see the tips.
Some bookmakers need a little prompt to get them to put the money in your account and this applies to both 'freebets' and bonus bets

I had to give Bwin more than a little 'prompt' to give my mrs her money recently, more of a kick. They did it in the end though after a week of emails.

site owner could do with checking offer still valid

I wish they would as its looking doubtful i"ll receive any bonus as they dont have any record of this site being the referrer....and yes i signed up via the link on main site.

Got so fed up with sending emails ive just phoned Gibraltar too be told the above.

I think you have mistaken this offer (dont people read the bookie summary anymore?). It clearly states this is a deposit bonus up to £20 and does not require a qualifying bet. The link is still valid - the banner takes you right to a page where the bonus offer details takes up most of the page - terms and conditions are also clearly visible too. Why you staked £25 expecting a free bet is beyond me. Is that how much you deposited? It also sounds like you didn't tick the box stating you wanted to accept the bonus offer (yes you do have to do that - as I also clearly stated in the bookie summary). This might sound harsh but it isn't going to help emailing their CS, when you haven't signed up correctly. Put that one down to experience. Read the review/summary and the terms and conditions EVERY time
