gonna do the reading vs coventry bet
its a qualifing bet for unibet for me so am i better waiting for lower odds or do i put £20 on coventry to win at 7.00 and £19.05 lay bet with betfair
For qualifying odd's you want to stick to the closest minimum odd's required (most bookies are 2.0). Anywhere between 1.0 and 5.0 are ok for qualifying odd's. The lower they are the less you will have to have in your betfair account to cover the liability.
But going on the example you've given, at the time of posting the betfair lay odd's for the reading v coventry game are 7.2, and your back odd's are 7. Using the calculator it gives the following figures.
Lay risk: £121.40 (you will need this amount in your betfair account before you can place the bet)
Profit: £18.60 (this is how much you get back regardless of the outcome, so its cost you £1.40 to gain a £20 free bet)
Lay Stake: £19.58 (the all important figure, this is the amount you have to 'lay' at betfair to ensure it costs you only £1.40 to gain your free bet)

cheers mick
its a little confusing but im getting there slowly

Well this will depend on how quickly they credit you with your free bet, if they have already given it to you then yes go ahead and place another bet straight away. I'm not sure if you can place it on the same selection, check their T&C's first.

Before you can make a withdrawal or transfer the money to poker and casino, the bonus amount has to be turned over 6 times in our sportsbook on odds 1.40 or above.
thx again
In effect yes, before they will allow you to withdraw any of the free bet winnings you will have to turn it over 6 times.
Dont worry though, as in all cases, your hoping to lose at the bookies and win at betfair. So then you wont have to go through all the hassle of betting it 6 times to withdraw it.
