Also, to make your life easier i've found that the Co-Op do a basic bank account with a debit card that doesnt need a salary paid into it. So...for the people your doing this for ask them to setup an account with them and just give the card to you.

Inferno, have you got a link to the co op one, i can only find one that requires regular monthly deposits.

I've got all my MBing accounts set up with Yorkshire bank. No monthly charges and no minimum deposits, A switch card and free online banking. Also having all the accounts with the one bank I can move money between then instantly. I realise that depending where you are you may not have a local branch but I think you can set up accounts over the phone (Not sure to be honest).

Forget about opening up loads of different bank accounts. I made that mistake. It's totally unnecessary.
