Overnight Trading

Postby hughsie » Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:33 pm

Not sure if anyone has seen this but I am willing to go through the early papers and find the most tipped horses. I'll post them on here for a few weeks until I get bored of doing so or if the strategy does not work.

Here goes then - my 1st tip is...

Mighty Moon on the 1640 at Newcastle tomorrow

Does this relate to what me and you were discussing a while ago?

I sent you a link or something similar?

Is this you putting it into practice?

Some thing very simliar. I have been putting it into practice for the last couple of weeks and it seems to be working fine. Only experimenting with small numbers but so far so good.

Tomorrow I'm going for 'I'm Delilah' 3.50 Catterick.

Yesterdays back bet was put on at 2.54 at the lay was matched this morning at 2.2.

The horse lost but I still won.

This is so far working a treat James :)

This looks interesting Hughsie. Can I ask where and when are you placing your back bets? Are you doing it the night before at Betfair or are you waiting for the early prices at the bookies? I assume none of the bookies do prices the night before?

Surely this is where the Betfair software comes into its own. Betting for you etc.

I remember it looked interesting last time but forgot all about it!!

At the moment I'm using Betfair to place by back bets. I am going to start doing the bookmakers and making this part of my matched betting. Even when the days I dont have any matched betting to do I can either betfair or the bookmakers

Its even simpler I think but maybe you're right.

I tell you something if there has ever been a time that we all could do with getting together it is now. I think we could spend all day refining our 'systems' ?

Nice one Hughsie. I'm going to give this a go. Are you sticking to the lay odds and staking recommended - set a lay price 15% lower than your back price with a stake of 10% more than your back stake??

Also are you finding there's much available the night before? I wont fight you for it but just wondering whether you're making pennies or pounds?

I'm not being to scientific about it. I'm choosing a lay price which is about 15% lower and this roughly gives me a 10% increase in my stake. All very rough - to be honest I but the figures into the calculator and pick a lay price that will give me a 10% increase in my back stake.

Making pounds ( nothing more ) at the moment. I'm increasing the more the more confidence I get.
