Arcade games

Postby Ryanefc10 » Fri Aug 27, 2010 10:34 pm

I would just like to know what you guys thoughts are on arcade games at bookies, you think there is money to be won on them?

Obviously I know they are random etc, as like betting in general I am a newbie to this arcade betting thing, so I just thought I'd ask the question to whether money can be made on playing them? I know they are alot more exciting then betting on sport.

Thanks.

Your previous posts and using the word "exciting" in this post, I am convinced you are doing this for the wrong reasons. People who find gambling exciting tend to have a problem and can easily become degenerate gamblers throwing hundreds or even thousands of pounds away chasing losses. If this sounds like you STOP NOW. Accept your losses, walk away and get help. Whilst you are accessing bookies websites the temptation to gamble is always going to be there. That's fine if you do it in moderation and can afford to lose the money but judging from your posts neither of these statements applies to you. If you don't want to accept this or think I'm wrong that's up to you, but please give it some serious consideration.

To answer your question, all Arcade and Casino games have a built in house edge, it's how the operator makes their profit. For every person that wins £100 there will be someone that loses £105 and there is no way to guarantee which of those 2 people you will be. The one thing I can assure you is the longer you play the more likely you are to lose, this is what the operators rely on. They are in a win / win situation. If you win you will come back and try to win more, the more you keep winning the more you will come back and eventually unless you stop you will lose it all (statistical certainty if you don't quit whilst ahead). If however you lose first time you will come back and try to win back your lost money. This leads to desperation and gambling higher stakes which leads to bigger losses. Of course you could win with higher stakes and it's back to scenario A.

Either way the bookies have you hooked and eventually you will be a net loser, the odds on the games make it a certainty over time. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE A PROFIT ON CASINO'S OR ARCADE GAMES IS TO PLAY FOR A BONUS ! and then only if the value of the bonus exceeds the expected losses on the wagering to win it.

PLEASE re-read the tutorials on how to make risk free profit from bookmakers sign up offers and read some of the excellent threads on here including my blog. If you think you may have a gambling problem then please check the main site for links to Gamcare or Gambleaware.

Matched betting for me is rarely exciting, its satisfying and I suppose I do get a buzz when I see a £100 reload offer but my actual bets are very unexciting.

As I rarely underlay I always know exactly how much I will win whatever happens, most of the time I dont even remember what teams were playing and I dont look or care who won the match. All I do is check that the money is in either the bookie account or betfair and that it is the corect amount. I keep a FEM spreadsheet that has been tweaked a bit so that I can keep track of everything.

Match Betting requires an "accountant" type mentality rather than a gambling attitude.

I both agree and disagree ( for me personally). Matched betting excites me because I am getting money for nothing! When I see just numbers on a page that spells ARB my pulse rate goes through the roof  . Simply making a couple of extra £'s that means the difference between a slight loss or slight profit is immensely rewarding. When I don't have the time or patience, it is purely business and the usual small reduction in profit equals "get in-get out-move on" mentality.
I get no thrill whatsoever from "maybe I will-maybe I won't" gambling. In fact it freaks me out when I know for certain I can make money by match betting. I too don't remember the teams- just the numbers! Unlike some here I will happily match on my own team (villa) if it means profit either way.
I'm with shooter on the "non gambling message". This site is intended for non gamblers who can learn how to earn money in a safe way. I'm not preaching non gambling. Each to their own. There are links to help anyone who thinks they might have a problem. I will help anyone in any way I can, but the FEM intention was to show people how to bet with no risks. Money is hard to come by. Free money is usually a myth. FEM proves otherwise ;)

I take into account all that you are saying Shooter, I think you give very good advice actually, and I thank you for this. I actually had a go at the deal or no deal arcade game, I did think It was fun, i was staking £0.50, had a couple of games and thats that. I for one wouldn't have the guts (or balls) to bet hundreds or thousands on these kind of games, it was just a little fun with a few spare change (i know thats how it can start) but really I wont take it further, as I found out myself that you would have to be extremly lucky to make money out of these type of games even with a little stake i was using.

Thanks for your advice though shooter.

I used exciting becuase i think they are actually, i like arcade games in general with no money involved :)

So bigjas would you back villa to win tomorrow or not ;) just interested as i support everton.

I totally agree with the money is hard to come by, and making a few extra quid is extremely rewarding. And free money is usually a myth, you see all these advertisments, win 5,000 by entering just your details, or win a iphone by solving this puzzle, load of bull. However, FEM prooves that free money is out there to be claimed ;)

I'd back villa to lose as long as the odds meant I'd profit either way, as obviously I'd also be laying them " to not lose. "
Guess that makes me a whore ;)
