Hello, it's not stupid, always best to ask first.

When you have logged in you can go to my account at the top then goto general on the left handside of the page under SETTINGS. Here you can change the odds display to decimal.

I always found football to be the easiest for beginners, there's less complicated rules and less chance of a bookies and betfair having different rules for bets. Horse racing and tennis can have a few extra complications so it's best to do football until you are confident with what you are doing.

Enjoy your free money and post on here before you bet as this is a deposit bonus and doesn't require a qualifying bet.

Further to what mandrew has said about this being a deposit bonus:
You now have £50 to bet with and you want to lose this all in one go. Bet the full 50 on something unlikely to happen but remember the higher the odds, the bigger the float you'll need at betfair for your lay bet. Should you win at Bwin you'll have to complete their WR wagering requirements (x5 or £150 of bets) before you can withdraw any winnings. Again try to do this in one go so if you do bust out of the bookie, the bonus is in the bag.
When you're more experienced you'll appreciate the benefits of " underlaying" your lay risk amount by a couple of £s on your first £50 bet in case you happen to win at the bookie at the first attempt ( as you'll have "lost" less at betfair accordingly.
Use the oddsmatcher to find the best football odds you can but beware you may not be able to make "big" bets on obscure markets.

Oh and welcome to FEM :D

This happens but it's not the end of the world! Next time post what you plan to do here and we can advise you, in this case I would have suggested going higher with your odds if you had enough float in Betfair.

Hopefully you've still got some money in betfair?

Before you can withdraw, the amount deposited must be wagered once and the bonus 5 times. You have already wagered the deposit and the bonus once, so you will need to wager the bonus amount 4 more times

= £100 (4x£25)

I personally would bet another £100 at Bwin and lay at betfair, you can go quite low with your odds as there doesn't appear to be a minimum odds requirement, the lower you go with the odds the less betfair float you will need. Get the odds as close as possible, the oddsmatcher will help you.

If you don't have much money in betfair and there is no way that you can put more in then it will be a bit more tricky! Let us know about your betfair balance please.

Remember you only have 2 months to clear this bonus.

;) good that's the best thing to do, there a few matches on the oddsmatcher now.

Make sure that the liquidity in betfair is enough to cover the liability of your bet. Let me know if you didn't understand that.

I was thinking of backing & laying germany (1.01 & 1.05 ). That way i will almost certainly lose my lay bet & thus avoid commission. What do you think?

Well I think that with Bwin you could find a closer match than this even taking commission into consideration, it depends really how much you want to get out of it. Sometimes I will take poor odds just to get the money through, if you search for one hour to make an extra £1 then that's a pretty rubbish hourly rate but with bwin I would expect closer odds.
