Return of wining stakes.

Postby freebird23 » Wed Nov 11, 2009 5:54 pm

This is my first post so hi to everybody out there.
I've got a question that's been buging me for a while that I hope someone can answer for me.
When I place a bet with a high street bookies and the bet wins I get my stake back, but I've noticed that my wining bets with totesport and 10bet and others I don't get my stake returned. These are not "free bets" etc but ongoing bets to get my full bonuses. Is this how online bookies work?
I tried the chat help with 10bet but did'nt realy get anywhere. I was going to try phoning their help desks but thought I ask here first.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

The only time you don't get your stake back is with a free bet.

If you place a £1 bet at a high street bookie at 6/1 you would receive £7 in return, the same as online. I suspect that the confusion has arisen over the decimal odds system, 6/1 is the same as 7.0

Therefore a bet of £1 at 7.0 returns £7 (Not £8).

Hi freebird23. Online bookies do give stakes back when it is your money (a qualifying bet). They generally dont (stake not returned SNR) when it is a free bet. No difference with high street bookies in this respect. Deposit bonuses are differet again in that stakes are returned but there may be a wagering requirement WR if you win, before you can withdraw profits.
