placed qualifying bet now for the FREE bet (help please!!!!)

Hi guys placed my qualifying bets with William Hill and Betfair £25 with each on:
Oxford v Gillingham £25 Oxford win back@2.10 William Hill

Oxford v Gillingham £25 Oxford Lay @ 2.08 Bet fair

My Balance with Betair now reads £53.75

My Balance with William Hill now reads £0.00

I think it went to plan(fingers crossed)but I dont see any free bets available to me with William Hill or Betfair,does this take time to filter through(if so how long)
With my balance being £53.75 can I withdraw funds and start using the free money(which I thought was the objective again fingers crossed)
When I eventually start my free betting how much of a float should I have if for eg: I back £25 @5 and lay £25 @5 and can/should I withdraw my OWN money so again I am betting with the bookies money.
Sorry for all the questions guys but I want to get this RIGHT and maximise my profit with little or no risk to my own money.

Hi Johnboy

As I read it you haven't made a profit yet, you will only make a profit once you back and lay the free bet. Will hill usually have a free bet box which should appear when you place your next bet.
To see this just click on any football team and the bet placement box will open and you will see the free bet box if it's there. You can then choose to tick the use free bet option to place a bet.
You really want to choose a back and lay at around 7 or 8 odds to maximise your profit so you will need around £150 minimum in betfair to do this (lay risk in the calculator will tell you what you need).

Assuming this was your first ever bets with both William Hill and Betfair and assuming that your bet lost at the bookie and won at Betfair (I haven't checked the results)...

Firstly losing at the bookies is ideal except for your your very first bet. This is because at betfair the offer is a free bet only if you lose ie a "risk free" bet. Since you won at betfair you wont get the free bet here but don't worry, you'll still get the free bet from the bookie.

You'll see from the calculator how much of a float you'll need - it all depends on the odds in question.

Hi guys thanks for the replies,but I think I've made a huge error,when I registered with william hill and deposited £25 I never put in the promo code and I can't find my free bet anywhere on my account( I lost with william hill but won with betfair) I've tryed emailing them with my acc number but have had no reply is there any hope that they will honour my free bet or is it a lost cause Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

If you speak with their on-line support they might give you the free bet but you will have to queue as they are not the quickest around.
Just tell them you cocked up when registering.

RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!! contacted William Hill and they are going to honour my £25 free bet.I will say Im a little confused as i thought that back/lay bets at 2 would break even or lose a very little but it seems like I have only gained £25 free bet from william hill and no free bet from betfair so effectively it is a 50/50 gamble(this site and others say it is a no risk win win NON GAMBLING method) but I have lost £25 because I won at Betfair

No this isn't a 50/50 situation. You've broken even from your first back/lay bets and you've gained a free £25 bet from William Hill. Had you lost the lay/won the back- you'd also have a free bet from betfair too. The vast majority of the other free bets do not rely on you losing at the bookie so just back and lay as you have done for guaranteed money with no risk. Just remember you need odds over 6 for the free bet.

thanks againfor the reply but I don't seem to be fully understanding,
according to the bet calculator doing the qualifying bet @ £25 back/lay 2.10/2.08 my loss for the outlay=0.47 approx guaranteeing 98.07% return of £50 outaly with 2 free bets but because I won on betfair I do not qualify for their free bet leaving me with just under 50% return i.e free £25 bet with william hill.
I do apologise if I seem a little confused but I thought the whole purpose was to use a little of your own money on qualifying back/lay bets @1.5-2 to gain free bets of 90+% of your outlay at present following the above principal I have gained only one free bet which = 50%of my outlay

That's ok it takes us all a little while to get our heads around.
Disregard betfair for now. You have to use them for your lay bets anyway so the possibility of also getting a free bet from them should be thought of as a bonus which was sadly not to be in your case as you won with the lay bet.

Think only of the bookies free bets from now on.

You're overall loss on the first back/lay bets when doing the William Hill deal cost you 47 pence. So effectively you just bought a £25 bet for 47p! Because the stake (£25) is not returned, you have to back/lay at higher odds (6 or over) when using the free bet ( you have 7 days to use it) but this will mean you'll make aprox £20-22 from the £25 on offer. That's pure profit that cost you nothing (47p but just deduct that for your net profit)and had no risk attached.

Now move on to the next bookie and repeat the process

I know there is more profit to be made at higher odds £20-£22 but that means covering the liability with over £100

The above means I lay out none of my own additional money as I have £52 in my betfair account.
