How do professional gamblers and traders get mortgages or do they just rent?

No chance of a mortgage if gambling is your only income.
Had a "life review" at the bank last week with regards to long and medium term savings and they would not factor in future earnings from "sports trading" as it was not guaranteed income. He did also say that this applied to playing the markets or futures too.
The irony is that it is the very money I have deposited in savings from gambling that prompted the bank to discuss a more rewarding investment!

I am a financial adviser. Mortgages is my thing as a broker.
I think I could get you a mortgage as a trader, but I'd need a proper set of accounts and a submission to the tax office of earnings. Shouldn't be any tax to pay though, but probably still best to file a report.
